Every now and then I will do a post about the Baby Activities that I enjoy doing with my darling daughter. She is a very social baby…she requires excitement in her day, otherwise she is bored. You probably think ‘how can a baby become bored? They laugh at everything…’ well Ally gets bored…noticeably bored…very very noticeably bored.
Our latest little moment of fun was painting. It was interesting…it was messy..but it was great.
I think it’s extremely important to try many different activities with your children, no matter what age they are.
Exposing your children to various activities can be exactly what encourages them to say “when I grow up, I want to be an astronaut” or “when I grow up, I want to be a neurologist”.
I wanted to be an engineer when I was younger, my dad is an engineer and even the smallest mention of my fathers job was all it took to realise that I wanted to be something when I was older! I had a goal that I thought I would start working towards when I was older and I was only six when I decided this! If my father had actually shown me what his job entailed, the world might have gained one extra engineer.
Our children’s minds are like sponges. Now I’m not saying to pressure our children into the careers we want for them but simply aid them for the future when they begin to select their own lives.
There are endless activities to try out (here are some examples 11 Simple Activities for Babies: 0 to 6 Months) not all those activities have to require sitting in front of the screen! (I am guilty of spending too much time surrounded by technology)
Please comment your favourite activities or something have recently tried.
